Focus Business awards netzkern again top marks as employer

27.11.2019 |

FOCUS Business and Germany's largest employer rating portal Kununu.com have determined the best employers in Germany out of 900,000 companies in an independent data survey with 4 million ratings. netzkern was once again honoured as the top employer for medium-sized companies. Already in 2018, 2017 and 2016 netzkern achieved a leading position in the big employer ranking of the internet industry and medium-sized businesses.

The decisive factor in this practical ranking is above all whether the employees would recommend their own employer to others. netzkerns kununu score of currently 4.58 shows that the large Wuppertal digital agency is viewed positively by employees, applicants and apprentices throughout. netzkern also received a recommendation rate of 88 percent from its long-standing employees. This is an absolute top value compared to the industry as a whole.

netzkern attaches great importance to the satisfaction of its core employees. The company offers an interesting customer mix and works for large companies such as Covestro, RWE, Festool, Düsseldorf Airport, Vonovia as well as for SMEs from the region. Employees also appreciate the relaxed working atmosphere, the agile organisation and management, various internal and external training opportunities and numerous specials:

80/20 Model by netzkern: Digital experts usually work on customer projects for a limited time. 100% capacity utilization and more are the rule. The mostly creative minds, however, always come up with topics that they would like to address, that they are particularly interested in or that disturb them. However, there is usually no time for such topics in everyday project work. This is frustrating in the long run. That's why netzkern introduced the 80/20 model as early as 2018. Employees work 80% on their regular job. And in 20% of the time on superordinate projects. These can be specialist topics such as new, language-based forms of interaction or organisational topics such as new team structures and the design of team rooms. The frustrating "one would have to ... but there is no time for that" has turned into a gripping "off we go". There's also plenty of time for creative gimmicks.

Many employees would go to work by bike (instead of a company car) and do something for their health. Good eBikes would be a way out, but they are quite expensive. Therefore netzkern has already introduced a service bike regulation in 2017, through which employees can also buy and use expensive e-bikes.

Supporting people: A tragic accident in the family, the separation from one's partner ... in life there are always incidents that burden you psychologically. In such situations netzkern offers not only understanding or the open ear of the boss, but concrete help through professional coaching/psychologist. Another example: One would like to move to another city for private reasons and work from there. This also supports netzkern.

The whole thing adds up to freedom of action and the feeling of being challenged and encouraged: the so-called New Work.

"What our employees particularly appreciate, however, is the great spirit at our core and the self-determined work in teams. We are all very enthusiastic and share the fun of joint success. Passionately digital," says Dr. Daniel Schulten, board member of netzkern.

netzkern is constantly looking for reinforcement. The Hamburg location in particular is to be significantly expanded in terms of personnel in 2020. Interested parties with relevant experience in digital business, development (especially Sitecore) as well as design and strategy can find out more under "Jobs" and apply.
